I make fitness apparel and I plan to start going to bodybuilding shows, powerlifting meets etc and start selling my products. I want something that isnt going to go down on me and have read reviews and heard people I know talk about reliability issues with Square and SimpleSwipe. I just want something I can depend on that is mobile. I appreciate this info as its the most complete source I have found. What do you recommend?

    Jessica Dinsmore

    Hi Taylor,

Although both Square and SwipeSimple’s mPOS systems have occasional reliability issues, this is true of all mobile point-of-sale systems. So if you’re looking for a mobile POS to facilitate sales at events and shows, you’ve already narrowed it down to two excellent options, as Square and SwipeSimple are both among the best out there! You may want to reach out to each of them to discuss your specific needs and see about getting a demo to see what feels right. We wish you much success in your expansion!

This service with World Pay and Swipe simple is a joke. When it works it is fine, but if you ever have to call … god help you my son. Why? First of all World Pay and Swipe spend all over your time pointing fingers at each other after transferring you multiple times and long hold times. Simple simple will not take ownership of their program, and World has the most consulted phone tree on the planet that will require at best 40 minutes to solve the smallest problem or to get answers to your questions. Their Access IQ website is 1000% tougher to read than BofA’s Clover or First data, and you will be transferred at least twice, and repeat verification each time and then likely be told to call Swipe Simple (from World Pay) and Swipe simple will then tell you they can’t talk to you without World pay on the phone… Just pick another processor. I am paying about the same as Clover with ten times the headache.

It’s interesting that SwipeSimple doesn’t list the prices on their website what is up with that and what would be the best option for those who just need pay buttons for digital products ranging from $25 to $2, 000 but cannot use PayPal or stripe?

    Jessica Dinsmore

    Hi William,

You’ve stumped us! Typically we’d recommend Square or PayPal… but if you can’t use PayPal we assume there is a reason. And if the reason is that they deemed you as high risk and refused to work with you, that scenario would likely repeat itself with Square, SwipeSimple, Payment Depot, etc. Without knowing more about your situation, the best thing to do is probably to contact each of the processors directly and be crystal clear about your business operations and your needs, and see if they are able to accomodate, and go from there. Best of luck!

I’m a relatively small dental office with 2 dentists, each with their own account. We would need multi-user pin pad for our office. I’m not real techy, so will this be something relatively easy for us to incorporate into our office?

    Jessica Dinsmore

    Hi Teri,

In all honesty, an mPOS like SwipeSimple might not be the best choice for your situation. You probably need a countertop terminal (or maybe two) with a PIN pad either built-in or as an additional unit. I don’t think you can set up a terminal to send transactions to two separate merchant accounts, but it might be possible if both dentists are using the same provider and the hardware can support it. However, you are probably better off just getting a separate terminal for each dentist and labeling them so the transactions aren’t mistakenly sent to the wrong account.

That said, I would suggest you contact Payment Depot and Dharma and see what they both recommend. MX Merchant might work for you or maybe Clover can configure a flex to run for two accounts. I hope that helps!

Don’t do it. I am also Dental with one Doc, and their customer service is terrible.

I have a small concession business. I sell mini donuts out of my trailer. I am seasonal(April thru October) and my sales volume is relatively low(approximately $2,000/month) with a price point per tray of $4 for plain, $5 with glaze/toppings. I am about to add credit sales and am not sure which POS is best for my business. It seems from reading your review that Square might work best for my low volume. Please advise. Thanks!

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for your question! Given your small ticket size, you’ll likely find that Square would be the best overall choice as far as processing charges. Best wishes as you grow your business!
